I am excited to start a new school year, and I can’t wait to meet you!
Here is a little background about myself. I was born and raised in San Diego and went to UCSD where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 1991 and then received my teaching credential there the next year. I taught in Oceanside before moving to Murrieta with my husband and three children.
I taught 5 years at Murrieta Elementary as the Title I Reading Intervention teacher. Then I had an opportunity to teach at Alta in 2012 and taught fourth grade for 7 years. Two years ago, an opening in first grade presented itself due to retirements, and I jumped on the chance to try something new.
In the last few years, I received my Masters Degree and went through the process to become a National Board Certified Teacher, which was a personal accomplishment and honor to be in the ranks of only 4% of the nation’s teachers. I love teaching at Alta and working with the students, families, and staff. I am blessed to be here and to be your teacher!
Let’s enjoy this first grade adventure together!
